Crafting Stories in Every Piece
At John Weber Studio, I blend ceramics, wood, metals, and mixed media to create art that feels alive and personal.
Creative Process
Each piece begins with a spark of inspiration, evolving through hands-on work and thoughtful experimentation.
My Journey
Years of working and teaching ceramics, wood, metals, and more have shaped my hands and vision as an artist.
My current ceramic work can be thought of as a hybrid of abstract expressionism and impressionism where the tactile and visual qualities of clay and glazes, merge with the nature of these two artistic styles. Much like abstract art, the work transcends direct representation, focusing instead on forms, textures, and compositions. This evokes emotions and ideas rather than depicting specific objects. At the same time, the works draw from impressionism’s essence, capturing fleeting impressions and inviting viewers to find familiar shapes or feelings within the abstract forms. Much like seeing recognizable images in the shifting shapes of clouds...the viewer’s imagination fills in the gaps, creating a deeply personal and dynamic experience.
